The Truth About "Mom Brain"

Hello friends!

Want to know the truth about "mom brain"? The truth is.. it's real. And my prediction is that it's due to lack of sleep.

When I was pregnant I was FLIPPING exhausted.. could sleep twelve hours a night.. plus have a nap during the day.. it was wild and of course pretty unrealistic to actually get that kind of sleep. So my body was telling me - sleep- I was telling my body NO and so the story begins.....

in comes... "mom brain".

Exhaustion, growing a human, pregnancy insomnia, worry.. baby is born.. feeding, raising, crying, colic, teething, housework, relationships, going back to work, talking to a baby all day..... NO WONDER WE'RE TIRED!!! NO WONDER WE HAVE FREAKIN' "MOM BRAIN"!

So when my babe goes down for a nap or to sleep at the end of the night and "mom brain" kicks in I'm sorry if I can barely make conversation with my hubby, I'm sorry if I NEED a to-do list otherwise I will literally forget to put on my underwear (okay.. maybe a little extreme), I'm sorry if all I want to do is watch some light silly show like"The Bachelor".. I've literally been fuelling myself on coffee to get through the day to this very moment and HECK.. you know what? I'm NOT sorry. We've done an awful lot to earn this "mom brain" and we should be proud of it!

So cheers to all of you fellow moms out there! May we we embrace our "mom brain" and give ourselves the gift of a moment a day to relish in a guilty pleasure - we deserve it!
